The straight-6 or inline 6 (I-6) is an internal combustion engine with six cylinders aligned in one vertical row.

Straight-6 engines have perfect primary and secondary balance and require no balance shaft. balance shaft is an eccentric weighted shaft which offsets the vibrations of unstable engines. Balance shafts are usually mounted low in the cylinder block, driven by and rotating at twice the speed of the crankshaft.this configuration is used to make engines such as straight 6's which tend to be powerful very smooth running.

It has a healthy 190 horsepower at 4,600 RPM with 235 pounds-feet of torque at 3,200 RPM. Nearly 85 percent of torque is available at idle, which helps with compression braking when decending steep hills.
